Bionic Films’ Salman Farooqi Arrested for Attacking Motorcyclist in DHA Karachi
On May 31, 2025, a minor traffic accident occurred in Karachi’s upscale DHA Phase 6 area, involving a Land Cruiser and a motorcycle. The SUV, reportedly driven by Salman Farooqi, CEO of Bionic Films, collided with the motorcycle near Khayaban-e-Ittehad.
Following the collision, Farooqi and his armed security personnel allegedly forcefully detained the motorcyclist, physically assaulted him, and issued verbal threats. The incident was captured on video by bystanders and quickly went viral on social media platforms.
Public Outcry and Police Response
The viral video sparked widespread public outrage, with many condemning the abuse of power and demanding swift legal action. The footage shows the victim’s sister pleading for mercy, but Farooqi continued the assault unabated.
In response, the Karachi Police launched an investigation. Raids were conducted at Farooqi’s residence and office, leading to the arrest of his driver, security guard, and domestic worker. Farooqi was later apprehended and taken to the Gizri Police Station.
